The first day of new talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency ended yesterday with the agency calling for access to all of the country’s nuclear facilities.
The talks began on Monday May 14 in Vienna and will continue today.
IAEA officials have reportedly called for permission to inspect Iran’s nuclear facilities and the Parchin Military Base.
This is the third round of talks held between Iran and the IAEA. They last met this past February and March in Iran. The IAEA’s request to visit Parchin Military Base was declined at that time.
Iran maintained that a military base cannot be opened to outsiders without proper notice and it has since indicated that it will allow access to Parchin once a proper protocol is set up.
Iran will also meet with G5+1 representatives on May 23 in Baghdad.
