Iranian Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi announced that three members of the Kurdish dissident group Komeleh were killed in the past week.
Iranian media report that Moslehi addressed reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting, saying: “One of the people who had killed three security officers during Tasoa (a Shiite mourning ceremony) wanted to carry out another terrorist operation but he was killed along with two other terrorists during a confrontation with the Anonymous Soldiers of Imam Zaman, and a number of others were also arrested in connection with the same case.”
The minister gave no further details; however, on Saturday other Iranian media sources had reported the demise of a four-man team belonging to the Komeleh Party in northwestern Iran.
Iranian forces have been fighting the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK), another dissident group, in northwestern Iran for the past several months, and the conflicts have left dozens of casualties on both sides.
