On January 19th, 2022, the European Parliament approved a resolution which includes adding Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Basiji forces and Quds Force to the terrorist list of the union. This is seen as a step towards the downfall of the mullahs which Iranians inside and outside the country have been pushing for since the start of the “Woman, life, freedom” protests. One of the implications for these groups and specific individuals affiliated with the regime and its oppressive forces is the prohibition of further economic or financial activities in Europe. Simply said, the resolution will, hopefully, halt cash flows from Europe into the pockets of the mullahs and their associates.
