Members of the Islamic Republic’s Basij forces are not only a repressive force positioned against the citizens of Iran, but also, a privileged group who receive special treatment for their close affiliation with the regime. For every Basiji or IRGC member killed in the streets, several more citizens are executed, sentenced to execution or forced to serve long prison sentences. In the recent protests, Iran’s judiciary executed 2 men, sentenced 5 men to execution and 11 others to long-term imprisonment, all in the same case connected to the murder of 1 Basiji. There is no justice in the Islamic Republic, only discrimination against those not willing to kill for the leader.
