Mohsen Mohammadi: Only His Bloody Shirt Was Left For His Family

His bloody shirt is the only thing left for his family. He had gone to protest the killing of Mahsa Amini and others, but after a bullet wound in his chest, he was killed.

Mohsen (Sha’ban) Mohammadi Kouchaksaraei is one of the victims in the protests against the government’s killing of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini. Mohsen was killed on Wednesday, September 21, in Qaemshahr, located in the northern province of Mazandaran.

A source and close relative of Mohsen Mohammadi, who wishes not to be named, told Zamaneh that Mohsen was shot by a war bullet in the back and under the left shoulder. Mohsen was shot at around 8:30 in the evening on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, and died after arriving at the hospital.

“He was shot (in an area) between Taleghani Square and the “Darya-ye- Noor” shopping center. It was 8:30 PM when his brother called Mohsen, when a taxi driver picked up the phone and said that Mohsen had been shot. The taxi driver tells Mohsen’s brother that he will take him to Sina Alley. There was also a young woman in the cab who tied her shawl around Mohsen’s wound,” the source told Zamaneh.

According to this source, Mohsen Mohammadi’s brother and young daughter pick up Mohsen from the taxi driver and transfer him to Valiasr Qaemshahr Hospital:

”On the way of hospital, Mohsen, who was still alive, told his brother that he could not breathe. His brother stopped the car and gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and cardiac massage… but his lungs were filled with blood…”

In the hospital, the doctors performed the resuscitation for nearly 15 minutes:

“Then they took him to the operating room, but Mohsen never returned…”

According to the images obtained by Zamaneh, wounds and bullet injuries are visible on the left side (armpit) and the left side of Mohsen Mohammadi’s torso.

The body of Mohsen Mohammadi is found in the washroom with bullet wounds on his body

After his death, Mohsen Mohammadi’s body was transferred from Vali Asr Hospital to the Sari Medical Examiner’s Office, where his family was told they could only have the body a week later. The family managed to get the body of Mohsen after persistent follow-up and forming a gathering of more than 700 people in front of Mohsen Mohammadi’s father’s house.

“When the security forces saw the presence of people wearing clothes and T-shirts with Mohsen’s picture on, they were furious. There were agents everywhere. They played reed instruments and local music; all the people were filming the ceremony,” the source told Zamaneh.

According to this Source, the family of Mohsen Mohammadi was asked not to inform others or talk to the media.

In the burial certificate of Mohsen (Sha’ban) Mohammadi, which Zamaneh has obtained a copy of,, the cause of death is stated as “hit by a high-velocity projectile (bullet).” Additionally, it states, “extensive bleeding inside the chest.” The Forensic Medical Organization of Sari issued the burial permit on September 22, 2022.

Mohsen Mohammadi’s burial permit that has reached Zamane.

The funeral ceremony was held on September 22, right after the delivery of Mohsen Mohammadi’s body in Qaemshahr, with many local people as well as security forces present.
