Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami was released after 50 days in hospital and will reportedly continue to receive treatment at his home.
Kiarostami was reportedly released on Tuesday April 26 after four surgeries said to be related to complications caused by intestinal cancer.
Kiarostami told ISNA prior to his release: “This release does not mean I have completely recovered.”
He added that he had been in hospital for 50 days and hoped to continue his recovery at home.
Kiarostami’s many successful films include Taste of Cherry, Where is the Friend’s House?, Close-Up and Certified Copy.
