The Gmail and Facebook accounts of Shahindokht Molaverdi, President Rohani’s advisor on Women and Family Affairs, were hacked into for three hours and used to send out phishing email.
Molaverdi reportedly sent out a message on her Twitter account warning her followers that her Gmail and Facebook accounts had been hacked into and that no one should open messages attributed to her from these accounts until further notice.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for this action.
People on her mailing list reportedly received massages from her asking them to open an attached file which she believes would be beneficial.
She announced three hours later that she has recovered control of her accounts.
Molaverdi is probably the member of Rohani administration who is most often attacked by conservatives in the establishment. Her modest stabs at gaining some points in the tough fight for gender equality in Iran have earned her serious scorn from ultra-conservative figures, and most recently she has been the subject of judicial proceedings for her attempts to gain support for the families of prisoners executed for drug offences.
