Iran’s president has cancelled a trip to Austria scheduled for March 30. His trip to Belgium was cancelled earlier this week.
IRNA reported on Tuesday March 29 that the trip was cancelled following mutual consultation and coordination.
Foreign media have cited security concerns as the cause for the cancellation of the trip.
President Hassan Rohani was scheduled to spend March 30 and 31 in Austria and then go on to travel to Belgium.
On March 22, bomb explosions at the Brussels airport and a subway station killed 35 people and injured another 300.
No postponement dates have yet been announced regarding these visits.
Rohani has been travelling to various foreign countries in an attempt to expand economic relations and encourage foreign investment in Iran.
