The news was published on the Mizan website, which is linked to the Iranian judiciary.

Makani was arrested after a number of his personal photos found their way onto social media. He was later released from Evin Prison on bail.

Makani’s counsel earlier told reporters that a 16-year-old hacker had compromised the athlete’s personal Telegram page, and so far no action has been taken against the hacker.

Sooshsa Makani is the goalkeeper for the Persepolis football team, and the club reports that 60 percent of his contracts have been suspended because those photos were published online.
