The Yalsarat weekly has lost its publication permit for insulting the president’s advisor on women and family affairs.
In its last two issues, Yalsarat has published articles containing sexual insults aimed at Shahindokht Molaverdi.
While Molaverdi announced that she has filed a suit against Yalsarat, the Press Supervisory Board decided at its Monday January 4 meeting to suspend the publication permit of the weekly.
Yalsarat insults Molaverdi and accuses her of supporting “seditious” elements.
Yalsarat is linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and has been suspended on several occasions in the past for its extremist stance on various issues.
