Reports from Tehran indicate that an Iranian student activist at Tehran University has been arrested by security forces.
The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported on Tuesday December 29 that one of Amini’s fellow students, who spoke to them on condition of anonymity, said that Amini was possibly arrested for his cultural and political activities in university.
“Security officers arrested Farshad Amini five days ago, and so far no one has been informed of his fate or whereabouts,” the report adds.
Amini is from Kermanshah and was reportedly in his last year of studies at Tehran University.
His family has not been able to locate him or obtain any clear answers regarding his situation.
Amini has been active in several environmental campaigns.
