Iranian poet and songwriter Yaghma Golrouyi was arrested by Islamic Republic security forces on Monday November 30.
ILNA reports that security officers raided and searched Golrouyi’s home and then took him to an undetermined location. The reasons for the arrest have not been made clear, according to the ILNA report.
In an interview with ILNA in November, Golrouyi said: “There is no trace of me or my name in any music albums in the past 10 years at the Music Centre. A limited number of my songs might have been sung on some music albums. If my name is on the album, it will not get a distribution permit.”
Yaghma Golrouyi is a songwriter, poet, writer and translator from Urmia. His songs have been sung by several famous Iranian performers such as Sahdmehr Aghili, Siyavosh Ghomeshi, Amir Karimi, Hassan Shamaizadeh and Omid.
