Head of Iran’s Department of Environment who is in Paris to attend the Global Climate Change Summit told reporters that Iran is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 4 percent in the next fifteen years.
Iran’s National Television said that Massoumeh Ebtekar said on Monday November 30 that the removal of international sanctions will allow the country to increase that number to 12 percent.
Ebtekar said since the nuclear agreement between Iran and the 5+1 many European countries have expressed interest in investing in renewable energy sector in Iran.
The Global Climate Change Summit began in Paris today November 30 with widespread protests in various cities around the world.
Hundreds of thousands of people across the wrold are demanding more immediate action to stop climate change.
