The Kaleme website reports that Tabatabai was tried for propaganda against the regime about a year ago, and the one-year prison sentence issued against her was finally confirmed on Tuesday November 17.

Tabatabai was first arrested in December of 2010 and interrogated for over 36 days by the Revolutionary Guards.

She was charged with “activity toward free elections and disseminating news of the Green Movement” and was sentenced to six months in jail.

In 2012, Tabatabai was arrested in her home along with a number of other journalists and released after a month on bail of 200 million toumans.

Tabtabai has worked for the Sina News Agency and the Bahar daily.
