Iran’s Minister of Intelligence announced the arrest of 24 members of terrorist groups in Khuzestan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Tehran, Golestan and Mazandaran provinces.

At a press conference on Tuesday November 10, Mohammad Alavi said that 14 people were arrested in connection with the attack on mourners in Dezfool. He added 10 people linked to “terrorist networks active in the eastern part of the country carrying out operations in Sistan-Baluchestan, Tehran, Golestan and Mazandaran provinces” have also been arrested.
He added that another 20 “terrorist agents” destined for Syria and Iraq were also arrested at the country’s borders.
In October, Iranian media reported that a group of Ashura mourners in Dezfool was attacked by three armed assailants who shot at the crowd, leaving two people dead and another two wounded.
