The court proceedings to hear charges against jailed human rights activist Nargess Mohammadi were canceled with no advance notice given to the defendant and her lawyer.
The Human Rights Defenders Centre reports that Mohammadi was supposed to stand trial on Tuesday October 6, but the court was adjourned for unspecified reasons.
Mohammadi was arrested on May 5, and her incarceration has been contested by several rights groups and activists, who are concerned about her poor health and the potential for her problems to worsen in prison.
Mohammadi suffers from pulmonary embolism and paresis.
