Hadi Noroozi, the captain of one of Iran’s top football clubs, Persepolis, has died following a cardiac arrest.

ISNA reports that the 30-year-old football player went into a coma following his heart attack on Thursday September 30 and later passed away.
The Iranian sports media have described Noroozi’s death as “incredible and a deep shock to the country’s sporting community”.
Cardiovascular disease is regarded as the top cause of death in Iran.
Noroozi, who was born in Babol, played for the Damash and Naft football teams before joining Persepolis.
