University of Kurdistan announced that in the coming year it is launching its first Kurdish language and literature program.
The university reports that the program will start by accepting 40 students in September of 2015.
Program organizer Bakhtiyar Sajjadi told Kordpress that the program has met with the approval of the ministry of science as a Bachelor of Arts degree with 136 credits.
The program is now officially included in the course brochure of the university under the language and literature degrees alongside Persian and Arabic literature programs.
President Rohani has been very vocal about his administration’s efforts to address the demands of minorities in the country, and the launch of the program was announced on his Facebook page today.
