The Iranian nuclear negotiation team arrived in Vienna on Tuesday May 12 to begin the new round of talks with the 5+1 representatives. Abbas Araghchi, a senior member of the Iranian delegation, told reporters in Vienna that the parties have reached consensus on a significant part of the agreement.

The Sade va Sima News Agency reports that Araghchi said the first draft of the agreement was achieved during the last round of talks in New York and that a significant part of it has been approved all around. He added, however, that one part of the draft is under serious debate.
“We hope to reach the final deal before the June 30 deadline,” Araghchi said.
The parties have given themselves until June 30 to reach a comprehensive agreement on all issues under dispute.
Helga Schmidt, the deputy head of EU foreign policy, will represent the 5+1 parties and maintain continuous contact with them. On Friday, the deputy minister will join the talks.
As well, bilateral talks between Iran and the U.S. will take place on Thursday May 14.
