Iran’s national Zurkhaneh and Pahlevani Wrestling team won the Zurkhaneh Sports World Cup which took place in Dushanebeh, Tajikistan February 23 to 28.
IRNA reported that the Iranian team won the top spots in Kabbadeh (bow-shaped iron weights), Heavy Meel (Club bells) and Charkh Tiz (sharp whirling).
The highlight of the games reportedly was the performance by Alireza Arjin who managed to pull 350 sets with the heavy meel bringing the audience in the Zurkhaneh to reel with excitement.
The second place in the championships was obtained by the Tajikistan team while Azerbaijan and Iraq tied at the third place.
