The Iranian administration says it is trying to bring the nuclear negotiations to an end by March 31. Government spokesman Mohammad Bagher Nobakht told a press conference on Wednesday February 25, following a cabinet meeting, that this does not mean a general agreement but rather a detailed agreement on all issues.
Hassan Rohani also said on a trip to Qom that his government has attacked all problems, including the nuclear negotiations, with “a strong will and without being sidetracked”. He added that the end result of negotiations has to be the lifting of “the current and illegal sanctions” .
The Iranian negotiators met with their U.S. counterparts in Geneva this week, and the Iranian foreign minister reported that despite some clear progress, certain differences still persist.
The talks will continue next week between Iran and the 5+1.
