Jailed Lawyer Mohammad Seifzadeh has been transferred to hospital from Evin Prison for treatment of his liver and prostate.
Seifzadeh has been suffering from heart complications throughout his imprisonment and been transferred to hospital prior to this, Saham News reports.
The report indicates that Seifzadeh’s request was filed one month ago and the approval was delayed by the authorities.
Seifzadeh is a member o the Centre for Human Rights Defenders, an NGO providing legal services in human rights cases. The centre was shut down in Iran by order of the authorities following the 2009 election protests and the widespread crackdown on dissidents.
Seifzadeh was arrested in 2011 and sentenced to eight years in prison for assembly and collusion against national security.
