Eight construction workers were killed and one was injured in an accident at the building sit of a residential complex in Isfahan.
ILNA reports that the eight workers were killed on Tuesday February 17 when a load lifter crashed from a height of 30 metres.
The inured worker is reportedly in serious condition and is being treated in hospital for his injuries.
The crash was caused by a hear in the lift's cable raising questions about compliance with safety standards.
On Monday February 16 the Isfahan coroner announced that the number of fatal work accidents has increased 22 percent in the past ten months with 127 workers killed in the period. The number of work injured in the same period was reportedly 2,522 which represents a two-percent increase compared to last year.
