More that 1,000 workers at the Safa Pipe and Rolling Factory have gone into their fourth day of strike bringing the plant into a complete shutdown.
ILNA reported on Tuesday that the drivers of 26 trucks that transport raw material to the plant have also joined the protests having parked the trucks in front of the factory entrance, demanding the payment of back wages.
One of the workers has told ILNA that one of the mid-level managers appeared among the protesters on Tuesday morning and told them any worker who is not satisfied with the work will have to consider termination.
Saveh City Council had ordered the company to pay the workers their back wages in three installments as well as pay them spring bonuses for the Iranian New Year.
Management reportedly paid the first installment after a one day delay but the rest remains unpaid.
