Media sources in Iran report that a school principal was killed in Saravan in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan.
The Entekhab website reports that unknown assailants shot and killed school principal Kamal Gomshad Zehi while he was on his way to work in the southern region of Sistan-Baluchistan.
Gomshad Zehi died in hospital while being treated for six gunshot wounds.
The report indicates that Gomshad Zehi had been a principal for eight years. He used to work in Sarbaz and was temporarily transferred to Saravan two years ago.
Earlier this month, two people were gunned down in Sarbaz. Many people were arrested and questioned over the incident, and the arrests still continue.
The Saravan representative said in Parliament today that security forces have identified the assailants and are pursuing them.
Saravan has a border with Pakistan that’s longer than 200 kilometres, and the Iran-Pakistan borders have been the scene of repeated armed conflicts that put a heavy strain on security in the region.
