Iran’s Education Minister says the administration’s new policy states that no Afghan child should be denied the right to education in Iran.
Ali Asghar Fani told Fars News: “Our objective is to give Afghan students a chance to be educated and empowered in our schools so they can return to their countries with the best of abilities.”
Fani said there are 330,000 Afghan students currently in Iranian schools.
Last summer the Ministry of Education announced that it will not charge tuition fees for Afghan students.
Fani said that right now, Afghan students have to pay about 10% of their tuition fees on an installment basis.
In recent years, foreign national students such as Afghan and Iraqi children reportedly faced certain restrictions when enrolling in schools.
