Bus drivers for Tehran’s Sherkat-e Vahed gathered in protest in front of City Hall to demand that promises about their housing allowances be honoured.
ILNA reports that on Tuesday January 6, the drivers gathered to protest that they had not received the housing benefits management had agreed to provide for them in the past year.
Some sources have put the number of protesters at 400. One protester told ILNA that over 10 years ago, City Hall approved a proposal by the Sherkat-e Vahed to provide 75 billion toumans from the sale of its surplus properties to help employees buy homes.
The workers say the majority of the drivers have not been granted this benefit.
