Iran’s nuclear negotiations delegation led by deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi left for Geneva on December 15 to meet with the 5+1 delegation for the continuation of nuclear talks.
IRNA reported on Monday that the talks will commence on December 17 at the deputy-minister level.
Araghchi reports that the Iranian delegation will also meet for bilateral talks with the American team headed by Wendy Sherman.
Iran and the 5+1 announced in November that they were extending the deadline for reaching an agreement to July 1, 2015.
There are still differences between the parties over the extent of uranium enrichment and the number of nuclear reactors that should be in Iran, as well as the mechanism for lifting the international sanctions against Iran.
