Scores of workers and retirees gathered in front of Parliament to protest the amalgamation of the Social Security Fund and their Health Insurance.
A number of MPs reportedly appeared among the protesters to hear their demands.
ILNA reports the amalgamation has been temporarily suspended to allow further investigation and consideration of the demands of the workers and retirees.
The head of the Social Security Fund has also questioned the merits of amalgamation, indicating that it will not be possible for his organization to deal with the various health insurance agencies and that services will be challenged.
The administration is trying to create an all-encompassing health insurance to reduce the patient’s share of health services.
