Iranian media report that another earthquake has hit Mourmouri in Ilam Province, this one measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale. The earthquake struck at 5 PM on Wednesday October 15 at a depth of 10 km.
According to reports, at least 16 people have been injured, but there are no details of the damages.
After shocks as strong as 4.3 Richters shook the area, people on the street were reportedly fearful of entering any building.
Mourmouri was hit by another severe earthquake last August, which injured scores of people and left many more homeless.
Since then, the area has been experiencing continuous earthquakes, which have wounded 500 people and caused damages worth one billion rials.
People in the area have called on officials to provide the afflicted residents with better facilities, including water, ice, food, tents and housing.
