The Kermanshah Environmental Protection Rangers announced the arrest of 153 illegal hunters and fishers over the past six months.
Bahador Cheraghi told ISNA that the arrests were the result of 102 reports from the public of violations against environmental regulations.
The detainees have reportedly been found in possession of protected wildlife.
Environmental protection officials have repeatedly complained about the lack of adequate equipment and manpower to enforce environmental regulations and raise public awareness of wildlife protection.
