Iran’s nuclear negotiating team has reported on a potential extension to the deadline for reaching a final deal with the 5+1.
The parties are scheduled to meet in Vienna for the next round of talks next Tuesday and Wednesday.
The original six-month period set for reaching a deal was already extended in July to stretch to November 24.
On a trip to Mashhad on Friday October 10, senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araghchi told reporters that if there is no major change in the stance of the opposing party, the deadline will probably have to be extended.
He added that there had been much hope that the negotiations would progress in New York, but that was not the case.
Following reports that those talks yielded no progress, Iranian President Hassan Rohani stressed that the two sides need to make “courageous decisions” for the negotiations to succeed.
