Reyhaneh Jabbari and Ashraf Nazari, two Iranian women convicted of murder, have been transferred to solitary confinement in Rejai Shahr Prison and are possibly being prepared for execution.
The Human Rights Activists News Agency reports that Jabbari was transferred to solitary confinement on Monday September 29.
Jabbari has reportedly contacted her mother, Sholeh Pakravan, to inform her that she is on the verge of execution.
Reyhaneh Jabbari was arrested at the age of 19 for the murder of 47-year-old Morteza Abdolahi. Jabbari has pleaded guilty to murder but maintains that her actions were in self-defence because Abdolahi was allegedly trying to rape her.
Ashraf Nazari, another woman convicted of murder, has also been transferred to solitary confinement in Rejai Shahr Prison in preparation for her execution.
