On the tenth day of the Asian Games the Iranian caravan won three more gold medals in freestyle wrestling giving Iran a total of ten gold, three silver and two bronze medals, placing Iran in the fifth place in the medals chart.
China holds the first place with 112 gold, 72 silver and 54 bronze medals. South Korea, the host of the games, sits in the second position with 44 gold, 50 silver and 52 bronze medals.
Japan with 35 gold medals is third in the chart and Kazakhstan is in the fourth place. Despite Kazakhstan’s loss to Iran in wrestling, gold medals in swimming and rowing brought the country’s gold medals to a total of 15.
In addition to freestyle wrestling Iranian athletes have managed to win gold medals in women’s shooting, men’s archery, cycling, rowing, weightlifting and vushu.
