Contract workers at the Ahwaz Subway Project returned to work after management gave assurances that months of overdue wages will be paid out.
ILNA reports that on Saturday September 27, a top executive from Kison Company, which is running the project, appeared among the workers and promised that they will receive all their back pay within 20 days. The workers have been on strike since September 21 because wages have not been paid in over four months.
The workers have also been promised an advance of a million toumans to be paid out in the next few days.
The workers had been threatened with termination by one of the operation managers.
More than 900 contract workers are engaged by the Ahwaz subway construction project, working both day and night shifts since 2012.
