Mostafa Daneshjoo, one of the lawyers who were jailed while representing Gonabadi dervishes, briefly lost consciousness in Evin Prison today, September 26, after 25 days on a hunger strike.
Majzooban-e Noor reports that Daneshjoo had already been experiencing trouble walking due to weakness and today he briefly passed out in prison following a severe chest pain.
He was reportedly revived by other inmates and, while they urged him to report to the infirmary, he chose to forego their advice.
Daneshjoo has a history of asthma and heart arrhythmia, which has made his family especially concerned about his health.
Mostafa Daneshjoo and eight other Gonabadi dervishes have been on hunger strike for close to a month to protest their mistreatment in prison and to demand recognition of their rights.
