Iran’s Ministry of Justice has announced that approximately three thousand Iranians are being held in foreign prisons.
The report indicates that a higher number are in custody in Turkey and Japan while smaller numbers are in jails in Brazil, Sweden, Georgia and France.
Iran has signed extradition agreements with 11 countries. Further extradition agreements have also been recently signed with Armenia and China but they have yet to be approved by the countries' respective parliaments.
