Zabol city employees staged a demonstration to protest the two-month delay in the payment of their salaries. ILNA reports that the employees gathered in front of the Zabol governor’s office on September 5 to demand payment of their wages.
The report indicates that the demonstrators then proceeded to the Justice Department building and then to City Hall and were finally met by officials promising prompt attention to their demand.
Shahla Rezvani, a spokeswoman for the City of Zabol, mingled with the demonstrators and explained that the delay in the payment of their salaries was due to a freezing of the city accounts. She promised them that the city is trying to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
