Mohammadreza Rahimi has slammed Iran’s Prosecutor General for publicly announcing the details of the embezzlement court proceedings against Rahimi before those details have been confirmed.
Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei announced last week that former vice president Mohammadreza Rahimi has been sentenced to jail and cash fines, adding, however, that this is only a preliminary sentence and it has yet to be confirmed in the appellate court.
Rahimi stressed that announcing details of his file before final confirmation by the courts is in violation of rules of the judiciary.
Mohammadreza Rahimi, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s vice president, has been indicted for fraud involving Iran Insurance and is currently out on bail pending the result of the proceedings.
