Nuclear talks between Iranian and U.S. delegations regarding the latest developments in negotiations between Iran and the 5+1 began in Geneva today, September 4, 2014.
IRNA reports that the talks will continue until Saturday September 6. The report adds that Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, led the Iranian team, while Wendy Sherman, the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, led the American delegation.
The U.S. State Department issued a statement announcing that Sherman is accompanied by William Burn, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, and Jacob Sullivan, a senior US National Security adviser.
Meanwhile, the Iranian foreign minister is in Italy meeting with the new chief of foreign policy for the European Union.
