Yukiya Amano, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, entered Iran on Saturday August 16 to develop further cooperation with Iran in the framework of the nuclear negotiations.
IRNA reports that Reza Najafi, Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA, said: “On the last trip, there was little opportunity to arrange a meeting with the president, but on Sunday there will be a meeting between Mr. Amano and President Rohani.”
The report indicates that Amano will also meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Reza Zarif and Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy.
This is the second time Yukiya Amano has travelled to Iran since President Rohani took power last August and his administration managed to reach an interim agreement with the 5+1 regarding the nuclear disputes.
