
Iran’s Minister of Health reports that three thousand physicians have declared their readiness to serve in deprived regions of Iran adding that there is still a need for 1500 to 2000 more.
He expressed every hope that the number of available physicians would reach 5000 by the end of the year.
Hassan Hashemi also reported that the ministry is working towards reducing hospital expenses for patients from 37 percent of the cost to 10 percent.
He also added that natural births are now being offered completely free of cost and that there has been a 10 percent decline in the rate of C-sections.
