The Malavan Football Club in Bandar Anzali says its women’s team will now be trained by a male coach, Fereydoon Movaqar.
A report on the club’s website on July 28 indicates that the team has begun its training with head coach Movaqar and has already managed a 10-0 win over Chaboksar.
Movaqar said the strength of his team is a powerful motivation for them to prove themselves with energy and confidence.
Last season the team was coached by Maryam Irandoost. The news of a male coach for the women’s team comes at a time when Tehran City Hall has made overtures about separating men and women in municipal workplaces.
