The Director General of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime announced the arrival of the first foreign liner at one of the country’s ports since the cancellation of international sanctions on Iran.
He reported that the Taiwanese ship arrived at Shahid Rejai Port in Hormozgan Porvince on Saturday July 26.
IRNA reports that the arrival took place without any delays and that the Ports and Maritime Organization expects that it marks the beginning of a return to business as usual at the country’s ports.
Wan Hai Lines is one of the world’s top 20 shipping companies and before the international sanctions were placed on Iran, it frequently travelled to Rejai Port, which is considered one of Iran’s biggest trading ports.
The report indicates that the re-establishment of business at Rejai Port will reduce the delivery time for goods across the country by seven days.
