The U.S. Secretary of State sounded a positive note following his meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister on Monday July 14.
Reuters reports that John Kerry said: “We are working. We are working very hard. A lot of serious discussions. It was a good meeting.”
John Kerry and Mohammad Javad Zarif met on the sidelines of the nuclear talks taking place in Vienna between Iran and the 5+1 delegation.
According to a senior U.S. diplomat quoted by Reuters, the meeting between Zarif, the EU’s Catherine Ashton and Kerry was “lengthy and productive.”
The current round of talks is aimed at reaching a comprehensive deal to end the nuclear disputes with Iran and remove all sanctions. Talks will continue until Sunday July 20, the deadline that was set out in the interim agreement reached between the parties last November in Geneva.
