Azam Afsharian, mother of detained Iranian journalist Nazanin Khosravani, reports grave concern regarding the well-being of her daughter in Tehran’s Evin Prison.
The International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran reports that Azam Afsharian has informed them that the intervals between her daughter’s phone calls from prison are stretching longer and she is concerned that something may have happened to her.

She added that she went to Evin to visit her daughter two days ago but they informed her that she is not allowed any visitors and they refused to give her any other explanations.

Nazanin Khosravani suffers from heart complications for which she takes medication.

Khosravani has collaborated with several reformist newspapers in the past, however; her mother has indicated that in the past seven months she was not employed by any publications. She was arrested over two weeks ago and to date the charges against her remain undetermined.

Tens of journalists have been arrested in the aftermath of protests against the re-election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad which the opposition claims was fraudulent.
