CIA chief John Brennan once advised the U.S. president “to come to terms with whatever government holds power in Tehran”, says WikiLeaks, which revealed the content of Brennan’s emails obtained from a hacker.
In a memo to Barack Obama, Brennan reportedly advised Obama to “tone down” rhetoric with Iran.
The emails, which reportedly are spread out from over the past eight years, reveal a general change in direction in U.S. policy towards Iran, the results of which are perhaps evident today.
WikiLeaks has indicated that it will continue to reveal more of Brennan’s emails.
The CIA has condemned the exposure of Brennan’s emails and referred to it as a crime.
