Reuters reports that the Saudi attack targeted military bases still loyal to former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has joined forces with the Houthis.

The reports adds that the Al-Imam University in northern Sanaa was also bombed, and local residents told Reuters that the sound of explosions could be heard all Sunday morning.

Medical sources also report that coalition attacks on Saturday morning killed 24 civilians. Another 27 civilians were killed on Sunday.

On Friday, 45 UAR, 10 Saudi and five Bahraini soldiers were killed in conflict with Houthi Shias of Yemen. The attack targeted an ammunition depot located in the city of Marib, east of Sanaa, that was used by forces loyal to Yemeni president Mansour Al-Hadi.

The Saudi-led coalition has been bombing Yemen since last March, after Houthis took control of large parts of the country, including Sanaa.
