Iran’s Supreme Leader has announced that Iran will not allow any form of inspection of its military bases by the 5+1.
Ayatollah Khamenei said in a ceremony with a group of military commanders that the other party in the nuclear negotiations is succumbing to “bullying and excessive demands” and added that one must stand against any form of “bullying”.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the “excessive demands” include the issue of inspecting Iran’s military facilities and discussions with the country’s nuclear experts, adding: “As it has been said before, there will be no such permission to inspect military facilities or have interviews with experts in nuclear technology or other sensitive fields or any transgressions against their privacy.”
Yukiya Amano, the IAEA chief, had told the Associated Press that the nuclear agreement between Iran and the 5+1 has given the IAEA agents permission to inspect Iran’s military facilities.
Some U.S. media have also written about the possible inspection of Iran’s military facilities.
Ayatollah Khamenei said: “There is no nation in its right mind that would allow such a thing, and all the enemies of the Islamic regime should keep this clearly in mind.”
