MirHosein Mousavi

Iranian opposition leader MirHosein Mousavi was transferred to a clinic on Monday October 21 for a medical check-up.

Kaleme reports that physicians ordered a full examination of Mousavi, which took place in the presence of security officials.

Kaleme reports that the examination was carried out by trusted physicians and the leader was announced to be in good health.

Mousavi has been under house arrest since February of 2011 with his wife, Zahra Rahnavard, and recent reports about their imminent release have not been realized so far.

Mousavi and his peer, Mehdi Karroubi, who is also being held under house arrest, have been accused of sedition but no official charges have been brought against them.

The opposition leaders, who ran a campaign in the 2009 presidential election, deny the charges and allege that the 2009 election count was rigged.
